[ARCHIVED] Hurricane Michael Public Notice

PUBLIC NOTICE


The Laurens County Board of Commissioners is encouraging everyone to stay home and off the roads tonight due to the hurricane. We will experience dangerous conditions throughout the night. Wind speeds are expected to reach 40 mph around 10:00 P.M., and at that time, all public safety personnel will be pulled off the roads. Medical emergencies will be handled on a case by case basis due to the dangerous roadway conditions. Please stay inside. A curfew will be in place for all of Laurens County beginning at 12:00 A.M. midnight until 12:00 noon time Thursday.

A shelter will be opened at Jefferson Street Baptist Church for Laurens County citizens beginning at 6:00 P.M. today and lasting until 12:00 P.M. Thursday.

Debris locations will be opened to the public beginning at 12:00 noon on Thursday at the same locations as last year. Only inert material (trees, limbs etc.) brought by private citizens will be allowed at these sites. All commercial vendors must take debris to the landfill. All building material must be taken to the landfill.

Rentz Collection Center

Cadwell Collection Center

City of Dexter off Hwy 257
