Voters Checklist

Eligible voters desiring to vote by mail may do so WITHOUT PROBIDING A REASON OR IDENTIFICATION.  However, voters who registered for the first time in Georgia by mail and did not provide identification, are required to provide at the time of voting, one of six acceptable forms of PHOTO IDs listed below.  If not, a copy of current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck or other governmental document showing the name and address of the voter is sufficient.  Those voters not having the proper form of identification shall vote a Provisional Ballot.

Voters may request an Absentee Ballot by mail beginning 180 days prior to any election.  However, the last day for mailing an Absentee Ballot is the Friday before the Primary or Election. 

WHAT TO INCLUDE IN THE BY–MAIL ABSENTEE BALLOT REQUEST

Voters may mail or fax a written request for an Absentee Ballot.  The written request should include:
           
            Name and address as registered to vote
            Date of Birth
            Election name and date (i.e. General Primary Election – May 22, 2018)
            Party affiliation (Democratic, Republican or Non-Partisan)
            Address where ballot is to be mailed
Daytime contact or phone number
Voter’s written signature

An application can also be scanned and emailed to registrars@dlcga.com or it can be faxed to 478-277-2933.

WHEN & WHERE VOTE BY-MAIL ABSENTEE BALLOT MUST BE RETURNED
