Notice of Qualifying Fees 2024 County Offices

Election 2024

Pursuant to 0.C.G.A. § 21-2-131, the following qualifying fees were set by the Laurens County Board of Commissioners at their January 2, 2024 meeting:

Qualifying fees are set by O.C.G. A. 21-2-131(a), which states that candidate qualifying fees will be 3 percent of the office's minimum annual salary. Qualifying will be held on Monday, March 4, 2024 beginning at 9:00 a.m. and will end at 12:00 noon on Friday, March 8, 2024. The Republican and Democratic candidates wishing to fill County Offices for election 2024, as outlined by Georgia Law, the qualifying fee will be paid to the applicable county political party. The General Primary will take place on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. If necessary, a run-off will take place on Tuesday, June 18, 2024. The General Election will take place on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Qualifying for Non-Partisan Candidates will be held on Monday, March 4, 2024 beginning at 9:00 a.m. and will end at 12:00 noon on Friday, March 8, 2024. The qualifying will be held in the Laurens County Probate Court Office, pt Floor, Laurens County Courthouse, Dublin, Georgia. The Non-partisan Election will be held on May 21, 2024. If necessary, a run off will take place on Tuesday, June 18, 2024.
